Lucky lottery winner, Sean Lloyd, scooped nearly £2 Million on the UK National Lottery back in January 2015. The bus driver from Ashton-under-Lyne had decided to buy a lottery ticket after he found a shiny penny on the floor outside his local sandwich shop!
At the time he thought, “… this is my lucky day – I am going to buy a lottery ticket!”
He even rubbed the penny onto his lottery ticket to give it some extra luck, it certainly seems to have paid off!
In fact he won £1.8m on the National Lottery quadruple rollover!
Soon after winning the National Lottery Sean quit his job at Oldham Bus Station to enjoy his new found wealth, but in June of the same year he paid a surprise return to his old workplace, boarding the number 409 bus to catch up with former colleagues and even handing out lottery tickets to passengers boarding the bus!
In fact, Sean is so grateful for the fateful day he found a lucky coin and winning ticket he has built a fountain and wishing well as permanent reminder of his good fortune. The 49 year old dad of four, and his wife Melanie spent thousands on constructing the floodlit wishing well and have promised to ensure all the coins thrown in the ‘wishing well’ will be given to charity.
This lucky winner wishing well is in the garden of his luxury five bedroom home in the leafy village of Greave in Cheshire.
He still plays the lottery and has even kept the original lucky penny in his wallet using it to rub on newly purchased lottery tickets!
