The biggest win in UK history to date is a whopping £161 million which was won by a Scottish couple back in July 2011 when they matched all numbers on the EuroMillions transnational lottery.

“There is still an overwhelming sense of good fortune – we were incredibly lucky and will never forget that.”
In 2013 they set up ‘The Weir Charitable Trust’ with an initial impressive £5 million, the trust is aimed at supporting individuals, groups and charities based in Scotland.
Outside of their charitable activities the couple have also bought their dream home in Troon, Scotland for £3.5 million together with the furniture, fittings and 32 acres of land. This house is 25 miles from their other more modest £1 million home in Largs.
At the time of the winning draw, the EuroMillions jackpot had rolled over 14 times to reach it’s maximum of €185 Million.
The Weir’s winning numbers were 17, 19, 38, 42 and 45. The Lucky stars were 9 and 10.
